Architecture, engineering, urban planning and construction all have an important role to play in achieving a more sustainable future.
In large building projects, the process starts with the choice of construction materials and continues through every stage of the building lifecycle, from the design, fabrication and use of the building to the recycling of materials.
Although the need for sustainable construction is widely accepted, the pace of development – especially in Asia – means that we urgently need to implement new ideas. Holcim is committed to the ‘triple bottom line’: the belief that sustainable progress requires a balance between economic development, environmental performance and social advancement.
In 2003 we established the Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction. Its mission is to promote sustainable responses to the technological, environmental, socioeconomic and cultural issues affecting building and construction at the national, regional and global levels. Innovative projects show what can be achieved through a commitment to sustainable construction.
Holcim is continuously included in the FTSE4Good and Dow Jones Sustainability World indexes. We were named Leader of the Industry in the DJSI for four consecutive years. We are always on the lookout for ways to improve the efficiency of our products and processes.
By collaborating with Holcim, you will ensure sustainable profits for yourself and sustainable benefits to society and the environment we live in.
